Many newcomers to our communities are allowed to work, and they would benefit from advice to help them find employment and integrate into the economic and social fabric of Portsmouth.

Since January 2022, Work Better Innovations has hosted three group sessions on job placement, CVs writing and inputting – with more to come on job search and interviews. This is part of our community service series on Job Preparation Support for Migrants. Every applicant requires something bespoke. Each person is different. We are committed to do this long term, helping one family at a time.

For our next event, we are grateful to Peter Fincham, Portsmouth-based businessman and part-time author to give an introduction to work culture in the UK.

Peter Fincham will be supporting the group to understand some of the things a person new to working in the UK may not be initially familiar with. The session will focus on certain things an employer would expect during the application process, as well as the sort of cultural norms that exist within the workplace that are important for everyone to appreciate once they’ve secured employment.
