12 June 2023. Work Better Innovations joins IHRB’s Global Forum for Responsible Recruitment (13-14 June) in New York for the 2023 edition as a contributing partner. Dr Bonny Ling will moderate a session on Human Rights Due Diligence (HRDD) in the shipping industry alongside speakers from Impactt, UN Global Compact and RightShip on Day 2 of the Forum.

The Global Forum brings together businesses, civil society, trade unions, government and academia to discuss the global agenda on responsible recruitment of migrant and transport workers.

The program takes place over the course of two days, both in-person and live-streaming directly from New York City.

After last year’s virtual Forum, when Dr Ling was invited to speak on a panel about the Recruitment of Women Migrant Workers in the Taiwanese Tech Industry, we are very glad to be back! This is the first time the Forum returns in its in-person format after the pandemic.

You can register here for online attendance.

As stated on IHRB’s webpage, the Forum is a “a thought leadership platform for accelerating the responsible recruitment of migrant workers around the world, in line with the Employer Pays Principle.”

On the first day, the Forum will present discussions on:

The second and final day of the Forum will continue the program with a two-part discussion on shipping.

Other talks on Day 2 of the Forum include “State of the Play: Where are We in Establishing the Employer Pays Principle as Normal Practice? What More Needs to happen?”.

Check the official website for the full program.

We are proud to make a contribution at this year’s GFRR and are looking forward to learn more from global leaders on how to best support the goal of responsible recruitment of migrant workers around the world.
